Kazakhstan forms a new model of consumer protection

ASTANA. KAZINFORM Kazakhstan is developing a new model of consumer protection, Chairman of Consumer Protection Agency Bolatbek Kuandykov told a briefing in the Central Communications Service.

"We have developed a new model of consumer protection. Due to the fact that the Law "On Protection of Consumer Rights" lacks clear mechanisms for consumer redress. In this regard, the Agency began to develop the concept and the draft law "On Protection of Consumers' Rights" in the new edition based on the best world experience," Kuandykov said, the primeminister.kz reports.

According to him, the new law provides clear procedures for protecting the rights of consumers when selling goods and services. In particular it is planned to specify the procedures of return, replacement, correction, responsibility of sellers and performers, deadlines, consequences.

In addition, as noted by the head of department, the new law will specify the powers of government authorities on protection of consumer rights.
