Kazakhstan eyes creation of Aktau-Baku water transfer line

ASTANA. January 23. KAZINFORM Creation of a water transfer line linking Aktau and Baku that will grant Kazakhstan access to Turkey and Europe is being eyed.
It was announced at the Government's meeting at the Akorda presidential residence on Wednesday.
"In the short term, the Aktau-Baku transfer line becomes of paramount importance as it is our bridge to Turkey and Europe," the Head of State said.
In addition, President Nazarbayev suggested developing a high-speed railway service 'Astana-Almaty' over Lake Balkhash.
