Kazakhstan expects to haul at least 2 medals at Sochi Olympics
ASTANA. KAZINFORM The Kazakh Agency for Sports and Physical Culture hopes that athletes of the national team will collect at least two medals at the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi.
"Kazakhstani athletes are expected to demonstrate better results in Sochi than in Vancouver four years ago," Deputy Chairman of the agency Mr. Elsiyar Kanagatov said at the Monday press conference.
"Our goal is to haul at least two medals, because we have the necessary potential. Recent Kuzin, Poltoranin, Ten and Chebotko's achievements at the international winter sports events prove that," Mr. Kanagatov noted.
During the Sochi Olympics Kazakhstan will compete in snowboarding and skeleton for the first time ever represented by Valeriya Tsoi from eastern Kazakhstan and Elizaveta Aksenova from the Pavlodar region.
