Kazakhstan, EU end talks on market access for goods under Kazakhstan's WTO accession

BRUSSELS. July 16. KAZINFORM /Dimash Syzdykov/ Upon the results of a meeting of Kazakh Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zhanar Aitzhanova and European Commissioner for Trade Karel De Gucht held in Brussels the sides stated completion of bilateral negotiations with the European Union on market access for goods within the Kazakhstan's accession to the WTO.

As the Head of the Kazakh Ministry noted, the agreement was reached due to complicated negotiations lasted for five years. "To date there remain two key issues to be addressed. These are the opportunity for Kazakhstan to apply export duties on commodities and conditions of access to the financial services markets for foreign banks and insurance companies. Completion of negotiations on these issues is scheduled for October this year", Z.Aitzhanova said.

The Minister also informed the European side on the process of the Customs Union formation between Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus. She emphasized that due to establishment of 170 mln people market of the Customs Union the investment attractiveness of our country increases.
