Former Ambassador of China to Kazakhstan Yao Peisheng has told a round table in Beijing today.
According to the Chinese diplomat, Kazakhstan has earned a remarkable standing as an effective platform for international cultural and religious dialogue. The first Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions was held in Astana ten years ago on the initiative of President Nursultan Nazarbayev.
"In his state-of-the-nation message "Kazakhstan-2050" Strategy" Nursultan Nazarbayev also addressed religious issues and noted the problem of non-traditional movements in Kazakhstan is high on the agenda at the moment," Yao Peisheng said.
He also paid attention of the participants to the fact that China supports the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions and is committed to continue this process.
Beijing hosted the round table on "Kazakhstan-2050" Strategy" and Kazakh-Chinese relations", organized by the Kazakh Embassy in China and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
The event brought together top-ranking Chinese experts and reps of the Foreign Affairs Ministry and Ministry of Commerce.
