Kazakhstan earned USD 1 bln from grain exports in 2013
ASTANA. KAZINFORM "Kazakhstan earned above USD 1 bln from selling grain last year," managing director - commercial director of ProdСorporation JSC Nurbek Dairbekov said.
"The grain exports total revenue as of today made USD 1,2 bln against USD 600 mln back to 2009," he told a briefing at the Central Communications Service in Astana. As earlier reported, grain crops of Kazakhstan made 18,2 mln in 2013, including 13,9 mln tons of wheat. As of April 20, 2014 Kazakhstan has already shipped about 7,3 mln tons of wheat. Thereat, 14% of all wheat will be exported this year to Iran, 4% to China. For the past ten years Iran has become a traditional importer of Kazakhstani wheat. Earlier, the country purchased about 300-500,000 tons of wheat annually, now it imports about 1,2 mln tons of wheat.
