Kazakhstan draws $100 bln of direct foreign investments in 5 years
ASTANA. December 19. KAZINFORM Over the past five years Kazakhstan has attracted over $100 billion of foreign investments.
It was announced by Erlan Idrissov, the Foreign Affairs Minister of Kazakhstan, at the Thursday press briefing of the Central Communications Service in Astana.
"Currently, Kazakhstan is one of the world's leaders in terms of attraction of foreign investments. Between 2005 and 2013 Kazakhstan has drawn nearly $173 billion worth of direct foreign investments and more than $100 billion in last five years," Minister Idrissov told the press briefing.
According to the Head of the Foreign Office, the impressive investment volume is a reflection of the fact that national programs implemented in Kazakhstan actually pay off. "It also means that even amid the global financial crisis our investment climate has proved to be attractive and credible for foreign business," Mr. Idrissov noted.
Presently, the Kazakh Foreign Minister has defined 20 most promising investor countries to build up closer partnership, especially in the sphere of attraction of cutting-edge technologies.
