According to Zhanbolat Usenov, Kazakhstan is one of the leaders of non-proliferation global process. Kazakhstan gradually contributes strengthening of world stability and security.

"We express our serious concern about the escalating tensions on the Korean peninsula. We hope that the parties will exercise maximum restraint and calm in order to maintain peace in the region " Z. Usenov said.

Besides, Usenov expressed the view concerning resuming the operation of the nuclear reactor at Yongbyon.

"However, we believe that the DPRK's decision to resume the operation of the nuclear reactor at Yongbyon is a flagrant violation of the international obligations of Pyongyang and the relevant resolutions of the UN Security Council. Overall, in our opinion, the question of the complete elimination of North Korea's nuclear program should be resolved within the framework of the six-party talks," Z. Usenov concluded.
