‘Kazakhstan-Croatia’ friendship society opens in Zagreb

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Friendship Society "Kazakhstan-Croatia" has opened in Zagreb, Kazakhstan's Foreign Ministry reports.

The ceremony was attended by prominent Croatian scientists, authoritative political and public figures, representatives of government agencies, and businesses. Chairman of the Coordination Council of the Croatian Friendship society with foreign countries Andrija Karafilipović stressed that Kazakhstan and Croatia are reliable partners which diplomatic relations established in October 1992. Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Croatia Aslan Musin told about the state and prospects of Kazakh-Croatian relations. He noted that the Friendship society between our two countries will play an important role in the development of direct contacts between the citizens and public organizations. Former Croatian President Stjepan Mesić praised the successful enhancement of Kazakhstan's independence and drew attention to the fact that the society will strengthen relations between the two nations. Former economy minister and adviser to the mayor of Zagreb Davor Štern was elected Chairman of the Friendship Society, and former Croatian President Stjepan Mesić - Honorary Chairman of the organization.
