Kazakhstan contributes a lot to SCO development - SCO Deputy Sec-Gen M. Konarovsky
JING. February 18. KAZINFORM /Ruslan Suleimenov/ Kazakhstan, as one of the founders and most active members of the SCO, has contributed a lot to the organization's consistent development. Deputy Secretary General of the SCO Mikhail Konarovsky said in Beijing on Thursday.
M. Konarovsky believes the activities scheduled by the Kazakh side for the period of its presidency over the SCO will be realized definitely. "Kazakhstan is an active member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization that always positively reacts to recommendations and proposals," he said.
As for the Kazakhstan's foreign policy, M. Konarovsky said that Astana had a very responsible and balanced external policy course. "Kazakhstan really contributed to the OSCE, despite the fact that the Organization has many problems, but thanks to the tremendous efforts of Kazakhstan's presidency the OSCE Summit was convened after 11 years in Astana," the Deputy Sec-Gen emphasized.
"Through the chairmanship in the OIC Kazakhstan extends its Asian policy vector. We all understand the importance of the Muslim world in the regional and international policy. This will promote a dialogue between the West and Islamic world," he resumed.
