Kazakhstan committed to close cooperation with Czechia – Kassym-Jomart Tokayev

Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has received today Minister of Foreign Affairs of Czechia Jan Lipavský, Kazinform News Agency learned from the press service of Akorda.

Welcoming the Czech foreign minister, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted longstanding and fruitful character of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Czechia based on friendship and mutual respect.

The Kazakh President expressed confidence that Jan Lipavský’s visit will give an additional impulse to strengthening the multilateral cooperation between the two countries. According to him, Kazakhstan is committed to close cooperation with Czechia, considering it as one of important partners in the European Union. 

The President highlighted the existing potential for further development of trade and investment ties having expressed Kazakhstan’s readiness to further provide support to the Czech investors.

Jan Lipavský thanked Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for the meeting and extended him an invitation from the Czech President, Petr Pavel, to pay an official visit to Prague.

He emphasized that the growing economic contacts underlie the Kazakh-Czech cooperation adding that industry, green energy and energy are the priority areas of joint work.

The sides also exchanged views on the pressing issues of regional and international agendas.

Upon completion of the meeting, the Head of State conveyed his best wishes to the President of Czechia, Petr Pavel.

Earlier, in an interview with Kazinform, Jan Lipavský said that Czechia views Kazakhstan as a key player in the Central Asian region.
