Kazakhstan claims to hold World Taekwondo Championship in 2017
ASTANA. January 22. KAZINFORM - President of the Confederation of combat and power sports Timur Kulibayev has met with the president of the World Taekwondo Federation Chungwon Cho, the press service of the confederation informs.
The sides have discussed taekwondo development in Kazakhstan and the possibility to hold international taekwondo tournaments in our country.
«Kazakhstan has expressed its readiness to host the World Series tournament of the Grand Prix by the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) in 2014 and also to hold the World Cup in 2017 during the international exhibition EXPO-2017», the message reads.
At the end of the round table the President of the WTF, Dr. Chungwon Cho noted the dynamic development of taekwondo in Kazakhstan and the high interest of our citizens in the promotion of the sport.
