Kazakhstan claims 5 medals at Asian U23 Fencing Championships
Kazakhstan won five medals, including two silver and three bronze ones, at the Asian U23 Fencing Championships held in Almaty, Kazakhstan, Kazinform Agency cites the National Olympic Committee of the country.
The tournament brought together over 200 athletes from 17 countries.
Kazakhstan claimed two silver medals in the men’s and women’s epee team events. Representing the country in the men’s epee team event were Alexander Savin, Kirill Pavlov, Alexander Fedotov, and Nikita Zhulinskiy. The country’s women’s team included Sofia Nikolaichuk, Vladislava Andreeva, Alexandra Tambovtseva, and Karolina Fomina.
Alexander Fedotov of Kazakhstan settled for bronze in the men’s epee individual event at the tournament.
The country’s men’s and women’s saber fencing squads won bronze medals.
Kaisha Zhanybek, Polina Ko, Dilyara Issabekova, and Adema Serikbay made up the women’s saber fencing team of Kazakhstan. Nurmukhamed Zhailybay, Kainazar Nurkatuly, Artur Chuprakov, and Kuanysh Ergashbay represented the country in the men’s saber fencing event.
Earlier it was reported that the Kazakhstani junior tennis players had jumped in the updated ITF world singles rankings.
