Kazakhstan, China sign co-op agreement dealing with supervisory activities in stock market
BEIJING. KAZINFORM - The National Bank of Kazakhstan and China Securities Regulatory Commission have signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation in the field of supervisory activities.
"The purpose of the memorandum is the creation of a legal framework for cooperation in the field of supervision of the security market. This is done in order to mutually open up the market of securities and exchange of supervisory information," said Advisor to the Chairman of the National Bank of Kazakhstan Akylzhan Baimagambetov in an interview to local journalists. A.Baimagambetov stressed that in recent years cooperation with China in the financial sector has intensified significantly. "Last year we launched exchange trading currency pair yuan-tenge on our stock exchange. In September 2014 was launched the currency pair tenge-yuan in the regional market in Urumqi," he said. The representative of the National Bank of Kazakhstan reminded that in December 2014 during Premier Li Keqiang's visit to Astana an agreement on currency swap tenge-yuan worth 200 billion tenge and 7 billion yuan was signed. During his current visit to Beijing the chairman of the National Bank Kairat Kelimbetov held talks with the Secretary General of the Multilateral Interim Secretariat of Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank Jin Liqun, the Chairman of China Investment Corporation Mr. Ding Xuedong and heads of other financial institutions of China.
