Kazakhstan, China see breakthrough in coop over last decade, Nazarbayev
ASTANA. June 6. KAZINFORM During the bilateral meeting President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev thanked President of the People's Republic of China Hu Jintao for continued friendship, hospitality and cordiality.
"As you may know, recently we have celebrated the 20 years of our independence. Your country was one of the first to recognize our independence. Over the short period of time we have come a long way in terms of cooperation between our countries," Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
"The last decade saw an amazing breakthrough in all spheres of political and economic cooperation. In 2002 Kazakhstan and China signed the Treaty of Good Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation. It was the fist treaty with the post-Soviet country. The Cooperation Strategy in the 21st century and the Declaration of Overall Strategic Partnership are also important documents that we have signed. A great number of the top-level visits is the indicator of our mutual trust," the Kazakh leader added.
President Nazarbayev emphasized it was his 13th visit to China and the 26th meeting with the President of the People's Republic of China.
