Kazakhstan charted right course to economy transformation, production modernization - Chinese expert

In an interview with Kazinform, which was organized with support of the Kazakh Embassy in China, the Chinese expert shared his opinion on the Kazakhstan President's state-of-the-nation address that touches upon the current situation in the country and determines the way of Kazakhstan's further development.

Zhao Changqing praised the economic achievements of Kazakhstan in 2011, having pointed out that the GDP grew by 7.5 percent, GDP per capita made USD 11 thousand. According to him, as against today's sick world economy, European debt crisis, these achievements are very valuable. "This is not only the progress of Kazakhstan, this is also a contribution to the global economy. The rise of Kazakh new economic system, alike Chinese, will allow the world to avoid entering a new recession," the expert emphasized.

In Zhao Changqing's opinion, Kazakhstan will further develop the social economy, increase people's welfare, and that is principally right and wise goal. The final purpose of economic development is improvement of living standards and also development of communal services.  Today Kazakhstan is the economically developed country, its national income has grown, big funds are invested in education, health service, training of human resources, solving employment problems and harmonious development of the regions, and all that is very important for the young independent country. "If people live and work happily, the country will progress. There is no other way to benefit from economic development, remain stable and do further progress."

The transformation of economic development, assistance to production modernization in line with global tendency of development is the right course, according to Mr. Zhao Changqing. In that sphere Kazakhstan achieved a lot and thus strengthened the country. According to the President's address, many of the great projects planned in Kazakhstan will also promote further strengthening of the nationwide economy of Kazakhstan. Active building of infrastructural and industrial projects in Kazakhstan not only helps expand the domestic demand, but represents a powerful instrument to withstand global slump.

I would like to congratulate Kazakhstan on the coming accession to WTO. This is the result of many years of Kazakhstan's efforts, and it will play a definite role in economic development of the country. "When Kazakhstan will be a member of WTO, Kazakh-Chinese economic cooperation will abide by the rules of WTO. Improvement of economic cooperation is inevitable, it is positive for both countries," the expert  noted.

Concerning foreign policy steps of Kazakhstan outlined in the President's address, Zhao Changqing said  that Chinese experts welcome Kazakhstan showing active role in the international arena. "I think China "as the partner of all round strategic cooperation" will actively support international initiatives of Kazakhstan."
