Kazakhstan beat DPRK 3-0 at Winter Asiad hockey preliminary
ALMATY. January 29. KAZINFORM Kazakhstan powered past DPR Korea 3-0 in an ice hockey women's preliminary game of the 7th Asian Winter Games at Baluan Sholak Sports Palace in Almaty on Friday, Kazinform cites Xinhua.
Less than eight minutes into the first period, the Kazakhstani team proved their dominance by scoring their first goal through Natalya Yakovchuk, before they continued to score twice into the third period.
Kazakhstan, which have seen continuous good results in the women's ice hockey for over 15 years, will play Japan after the latters crashed South Korea 10-0.
It has been the fourth time that the Kazakhstani women's hockey team participated in Asian Winter Games, winning two of the previous hockey competitions.
