Kazakhstan, Bahrain agree upon aluminum processing cooperation

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Kazakhstan and Bahrain have agreed today to cooperate in aluminum processing.

The corresponding agreement was signed during the Astana-hosted "Kazakhstan-Bahrain: Strategic Partnership" business forum on Monday. Vice Premier and Minister of Industry and New Technologies of Kazakhstan Asset Issekeshev noted in his opening remarks that Bahrain processes more than 800 thousand tons of aluminum per year. "Kazakhstan prides on having vast stocks of aluminum and produces up to 250 thousand tons a year. And there is a potential to produce 500 thousand tons," he said. "We are ready to create a special aluminum processing zone in the city of Pavlodar," A. Issekeshev stressed.
