Kazakhstan attends int'l conference on security issues in Sochi

ASTANA. October 5. KAZINFORM An international meeting of high representatives supervising security issues is being held in Sochi, the Russian Federation, on October 5-6, 2010.

As the Kazakh President's press service reports, representatives of over 50 countries - secretaries of security councils, presidents' aides for national security, including coordinators for security affairs from the Russian Federation, the USA, China, India, France, Italy, Turkey, Canada, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Korea, the CIS-states take part in it.

The international conference in such format is held for the first time at the global level.

National and regional approaches on ensuring security in three dimensions - prevention and elimination of emergencies of natural and man-made character, countering cross-border crime and information security - were discussed at the meeting.

Kazakh President's Aide-Secretary of the Security Council Marat Tazhin made a presentation at a plenary session on the issues regarding natural and man-made catastrophes.
