He emphasized that mining and metallurgy are strategic sectors for Saudi Arabia, requiring major investments, advanced technologies, and strong logistics.

He noted thanks to its rich resource base, favorable location, infrastructure, and affordable energy, Kazakhstan strengthens its position as one of the key players of the global mining sector and may contribute to global economic development.

He said Saudi Arabia has abundant mineral fertilizers, while Kazakhstan is a major agricultural producer. Resources extracted in Kazakhstan could be processed in Saudi Arabia to enhance competitiveness but both countries aim to create opportunities for private companies to drive joint projects.

He stated Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia may partner in the mineral sector.

Saudi Arabia sent a large delegation of government and private sector representatives, signaling readiness to launch concrete initiatives.

As written before, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov participated in the 16th Congress of Astana Mining & Metallurgy 2026.
