Kazakhstan and Russia to sign agreement on transport control at external borders of CU
ASTANA. June 22. KAZINFORM /Kanat Kulshmanov/ - A meeting on the issues of organization of transport control at the external borders of the Customs Union with representatives of Kazakhstan and Russia was held in Astana on Tuesday.
The parties discussed the draft Agreement on transport control at the external borders of the Customs Union.
'The Agreement is to specify the list of procedures to be taken at the borders of the CU such as controlling availability of permits of foreign carriers and carriers from the CU, compliance with the requirements for weight and dimensions allowed etc.', Deputy Chairman of the Committee of transport control of the Ministry of Transport and Communication Asset Asavbaev said.
'The establishment of the Common Customs Area and eliminating all forms of state control at the internal borders of the Customs Union will provide vehicle services development in our countries which is to promote positive economic growth', he added.
