Kazakhstan and Italy set to create joint brand
Kazakh Trade and Integration Minister Arman Shakkaliyev met in Rome with Italy’s Minister of Business and Made in Italy Adolfo Urso to implement agreements concluded as part of the Kazakh President’s visit to Italy paid this January, Kazinform News Agency quotes the Ministry’s press service.
The sides debated prospects for expanding trade relations between the two nations and introducing the Made in Kazakhstan with Italy integrated concept.
Minister Shakkaliyev said Kazakhstan stands as a reliable partner of Italy’s business in Central Asia. At the same time, the countries have great opportunities for further deepening of economic partnership.
He added Kazakhstan’s potential for processed goods exports to Italy exceeds 260 million US dollars. Organic foods have significant advantages. Horsemeat is projected to be in great demand in Italy taking into account that it imports horsemeat worth over 140 million US dollars annually. Kazakhstan may offer organic chilled horse meat and export deliveries of caviar and honey.
The Kazakh Minister suggested creating and promoting the Made in Kazakhstan with Italy concept for products produced jointly by small and medium businesses of the two states.
In his turn, Adolfo Urso said the Made in Kazakhstan with Italy concept today is more about global product identification, sustainable products, and social sustainability which stands for ‘made well’ and ‘recognizable’. He also supported the idea of creating a joint brand.
