Kazakhstan and India vow to deepen cooperation
ASTANA. KAZINFORM Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Kazakhstan to India Dulat Kuanyshev met on Wednesday with Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas of India Dharmendra Pradhan, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry's press service said.
The sides debated the progress of realization of decisions made at the 11th sitting of the joint Kazakh-Indian intergovernmental commission for trade-economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation held this April 24-25 in Astana. As for the prospects for further bilateral cooperation, the Kazakh ambassador stressed the need to broaden energy cooperation. One of the main obstacles to widening bilateral trade is the lack of direct ties. Kuanyshev handed over the Indian minister an invitation on behalf of Kazakh Oil and Gas Minister Uzakbai Karabalin and Energy Charter Secretary General Urban Rusnak to participate in the 25th session of the Energy Charter Conference that will be held in Astana November this year. It will bring together above 150 oil, gas, energy and economy ministers, heads of international organizations, top managers of the largest transnational corporations.
