Kazakhstan and Georgia discussed energy cooperation
TBILISI. March 28. KAZINFORM Charge d'Affairs of Kazakhstan to Tbilisi Adil Tursunov presented "Kazakhstan-2050" Strategy" at the 12th International conference "Oil and gas infrastructure and energy of Georgia" held on March 26-27 in Tbilisi.
Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Kakha Kaladze, Minister for Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Eduard Stavitsky, Director General of Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation (GOGC) David Tvalabeishvili , head of the EU delegation to Georgia Philip Dimitrov and Charge d'Affairs at the British Embassy in Georgia David Moran have also attended the conference.
Besides, more than 150 delegates from 15 countries participated in the event, where key international issues facing the global oil and gas industry and their impact on the energy sector of Georgia were considered.
Head of the Kazakh diplomatic mission stressed that according to the "Kazakhstan-2050 Strategy» seven areas relating to the field of natural resources will be carried out in Kazakhstan.
They are: transformation of our natural resources in a sustainable economic growth; reduction of dependence of our economy on the exploration and export of hydrocarbons and other minerals, as well as increasing the share of high-tech sector; implementation of the investment policy under a "Resources in exchange for technology; lifting the moratorium on exploration of new oil and gas; the transition to a green and low-carbon economy; realization of Kazakhstan's transit potential and the last one is that Kazakhstan is and will always be a reliable, predictable and responsible partner in the global energy system
In addition, the importance of development of Kazakh-Georgian cooperation in the energy sector, where there are many opportunities to enhance them was stressed during the conference.
In particular, the three national Kazakh companies "Rompetrol", "KazTransOil" and "KazTransGas" are already working in Georgia and have long-term plans for the local market.
Special attention was paid to the prospects of the project "New Silk Road", initiated by President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev.
"There is no doubt that the "Kazakhstan-2050" Strategy will promote the development of bilateral relations of our country with Georgia," A. Tursunov concluded.
