Nazarbayev noted that despite the difficulties connected with Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict, Azerbaijan reached significant progress over the past 20 years.

"We are the Caspian Sea neighbors, and all problems of the Caspian Sea are common to us. We are firmly addressing the problems connected with its status. We have good prospects for cooperation in industrial and oil and gas spheres. Our experts can use the big experience of Azerbaijan in this field," the President of Kazakhstan noted.

Nazarbayev also mentioned the opportunity to develop cooperation in transport sphere. "In the future Azerbaijan will become one of the most important transport arteries for Kazakhstan's oil and other products. Construction of a new railroad from Turkey through Georgia and Azerbaijan to the Caspian Sea will make it possible to deliver Caucasian goods via Kazakhstan to China. This project promises great benefits for both parties," he emphasized.
