H. Fischer noted 20 years ago Austria and Kazakhstan have established diplomatic relations.

"We achieved a great progress and I'm really happy that Nursultan Nazarbayev accepted my invitation to visit Austria. Today we have discussed the results and perspectives of economic cooperation.  In addition, particular emphasis was placed on energy cooperation. Austrian and Kazakh companies closely cooperate in the field of oil and gas, and there is a willingness to expand the volume of oil supplies to Austria. This is very important for us," the head of the Austrian Republic added.

"An agreement on mutual protection of investments was also signed at the meeting. We have agreed on increasing the number of flights between Kazakhstan and Austria. Besides, we have discussed cultural cooperation. I would be very happy if Kazakhstan takes part in the conference "Cultural cooperation between civilizations" in February next year. I also proposed to Nursultan Nazarbayev to make Kazakhstan a member of the International Anti-Corruption Academy," H. Fischer concluded.
