Kazakhstan ambassador to Belarus brands sanctions as counterproductive
MINSK. KAZINFORM "The policy of sanctions is counterproductive," Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Belarus Yergali Bulegenov at a press conference on 28 August.
Asked about Kazakhstan's view on the mutual sanctions enforced by the West and Russia, the diplomat said that sanctions are counterproductive and spoke in favor of their removal as soon as possible, BelTA reports.
The Ambassador said he feared that the Kazakhstan economy may suffer because of these sanctions. "We don't want the sanctions to affect our relations with Russia and with Western countries. We are against the policy of sanctions," he said.
Yergali Bulegenov stressed that good conditions for the development of foreign business and for attracting foreign investments are created in Kazakhstan.
