Kazakhstan Ambassador presented credentials to Latvian President

ASTANA. March 12. KAZINFORM Kazakhstan Ambassador Galymzhan Koishybayev presented credentials to President of Latvia Valdis Zatlers, Kazinform refers to the Kazakh MFA?s press service.

During the meeting the Kazakh Ambassador noted a high level of bilateral cooperation, activation of Kazakhstan?s interaction with the EU countries, including within the framework of implementation of ?Path to Europe? state program and preparation for the chairmanship in the OSCE in 2010. The Kazakh diplomat attracted attention to the Kazakh initiative on reaching of a new agreement on partnership and cooperation with the EU, emphasizing that the Kazakh side relies on the Latvian support in promotion this issue. G.Koishybayev noted that one of the measures promoting activation of business contacts, development of the sphere of tourism and cultural-educational exchange, can be simplification of a visa regime between the two countries. President Valdis Zatlers noted that Latvia pays great attention to extension and strengthening of friendly relations with Kazakhstan. A solid political foundation creates favorable opportunities for extension of economic cooperation despite affection of the global financial crisis. According to him, there can be found new effective forms of interaction in the current difficult time. The Latvian President expressed support to the Kazakh international initiatives, including those, which were directed to strengthening cooperation with the EU states, and wished N.Nazarbayev and Kazakhstanies well-being and welfare.
