"Why was it possible to host the OSCE Summit namely in Astana? We have moved towards this goal from the first days of our independence. Having declared its sovereignty, Kazakhstan set to conducting large-scale economic reforms. We have attracted huge foreign investments and now we are leading in the CIS in economic development and political reforms. We have closed the nuclear testing site and renounced our nuclear arms and gained the trust of the global community", the Kazakh President said.

As a result, the world appreciated Kazakhstan's efforts and therefore Astana was allowed hosting the OSCE Summit.
