Kazakhstan ahead of Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan in number of mosques
ASTANA. October 26. KAZINFORM Chairman of the Kazakh Agency for Religious Affairs Kairat Lama Sharif congratulated all the Muslims of Kazakhstan on Eid al-Adha.
"As the Holy Quran reads: "Be good to your parents, relatives, orphans, and the very poor, travellers. Allah knows all your good deeds. Let Allah accept all your prayers and good deeds," the congratulatory message says.
It is noteworthy that 2 228 mosques the countrywide passed registration on the eve of this bright holiday. Kazakhstan is ahead of Uzbekistan (2 050), Azerbaijan (1 700), Kyrgyzstan (2 200), Turkmenistan (400) in number of mosques. Besides, this great religious holiday of 1.5 bln of Muslims coincided with successful completion of Kazakhstan's OIC chairmanship that is the second largest international organization in the world after the UN.
