Kazakhmys invests USD 1 bln into energy development in 5-6- years - E.Ogai

KARAGANDA. October 9. KAZINFORM /Valentina Yelizarova/ In the nearest five-six years the Kazakhmys Group invests in its energy facilities development about USD 1 bln. Chairman of the Board of the Kazakhmys Corporation Eduard Ogai has made it public after a new turbine launching at the Karaganda hydro-electric power station-2.
"Today's event is a beginning of our industrial map development in the energy sphere", he said. According to him, it is planned to develop the Balkhash and Zhezkazgan thermal power stations. In 2010 the investments volume into three stations situated in Karaganda oblast will make up about USD 30 mln.
"The Head of the State set us the task - to introduce energy saving technologies. We work over it", the Chairman said.
