Kazakh Vice Premier visited Semey

SEMEY. May 30. KAZINFORM. /Lina Slavina/ Vice Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Serik Akhmetov made a working trip to Semey on Friday. He visited ?SemAZ? plant, ?Semey engineering? LLC and thermal power plant-1. Besides, he took part in the meeting with the municipal authorities.
The issues of implementation of the program on Semey development for 2006-2008 were considered. The program was worked out in accordance with the President?s task given during his visit to East Kazakhstan region in June 2005.
Akim of East Kazakhstan region Berdybek Saparbayev noted that the main purpose of the program was to ensure further sustainable socio-economic development of the town. It consisted of 72 projects on industrial potential expansion, development of housing construction, infrastructure development, improvement of housing and utilities services.
?There are still some problems in the sphere of housing and utilities infrastructure, production, heat supply and others?, S. Akhmetov said after a trip around the town.
