Kazakh Vice PM visited Belarus

ASTANA. September 24. KAZINFORM. Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Serik Akhmetov paid a two-day visit to Belarus on September 22-23; Kazinform refers to the Kazakh PM's press service.

Development of the international military industrial cooperation is one of the directions of realization of the President's tasks on development of the defense industry complex.  During the first day of his visit Mr. Akhmetov held working meetings with Defense Minister Leonid Maltsev and Chairman of the State Military-Industrial Commission N. Azamatov. Consultations with Belarusian colleagues were held as well. The sides determined new perspective directions of mutually beneficial cooperation.

The Kazakh delegation visited a number of military enterprises, regional air traffic control center, aircraft repair plant and "Agat" scientific production union. At the meeting with the union's management S. Akhmetov noted that Kazakhstan intended to develop software systems for its Armed Forces together with Belarusian colleagues.

Yesterday the Vice PM met with Prime Minister of Belarus Sergey Sidorsky. The parties confirmed mutual plans to expand military-technical cooperation. They discussed an opportunity of opening of a joint aircraft repair and service enterprise. Special attention was paid to Kazakhstan's specialists training.
