Kazakh, Ukrainian Leaders' meeting to give new impulse to bilateral relations - Saudabayev
KIEV. April 1. KAZINFORM /Rasul Bakhamov/ The upcoming meeting of the presidents of Kazakhstan and Ukraine will give a strong impulse to bilateral relations of the countries, OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Secretary of State-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Kanat Saudabayev said at the meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Kostyantyn Gryshchenko in Kiev yesterday.
Upon completion of the talks, Saudabayev noted that the Kazakh side made necessary arrangements for the visit of President of Ukraine Victor Yanukovich to Kazakhstan which will take place at the invitation of Kazakh Leader Nursultan Nazarbayev.
"To my mind, the current state of affairs and the level of cooperation between our countries do not comply with our potential and do not meet the expectations of both nations", he said having noted that Kazakhstan and Ukraine share common history and have long history of interaction.
"Political and trade-economic relations as well as thousands of human fates unite our countries. As you know, Kazakhstan is the Motherland for more than half a million Ukrainians, our compatriots and fully fledged citizens of our state who make huge contribution to its socio-economic and political development", Saudabayev stressed.
