Kazakh, U.S. military coop prospects discussed in Astana

ASTANA. February 8. KAZINFORM Kazakh Minister of Defense Adilbek Dzhaksybekov met with Chargé d'Affaires of the United States Embassy in Astana John Ordway on Tuesday, the press service of the Ministry reported.

The Head of the Kazakh Ministry congratulated J.Ordway on the appointment and expressed assurance that his great experience and knowledge would contribute to development of the relations between Kazakhstan and the United States.

Issues of bilateral cooperation in the personnel training, military education system development and other spheres within the five-year cooperation plan signed by the defense ministries of two states were discussed.

"Special emphasis should be laid on the recent increase of bilateral events number held within the military contacts plan and aimed at studying experience of the United States Army in different fields. Over 110 bilateral activities are scheduled for this year. The United States of America and Kazakhstan strive to strengthen interaction between our states through maintaining dialogue and extending military cooperation", A.Dzhaksybekov said.
