Kazakh, Turkish Presidents visit ‘Azret Sultan’ state historical and cultural museum-reserve
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan have visited "Azret Sultan" State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve, according to Akorda Twitter account.
"Azret Sultan" State Historical and Cultural Reserve-Museum was founded in 1991 on the basis of the Museum of the architectural complex of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi. The central object of "Azret Sultan" is the Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi - the first monument of Kazakhstan included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The area of the museum-reserve is 90 hectares.
"Azret Sultan" is a research and scientific-educational institution designed to collect, preserve and explore the monuments of archeology and architecture of Turkestan. The reserve-museum includes: Kultobe settlement (IV-VI c.); Sufi Center (X-XII c.) with the underground mosque Hilvet; ritual structure Shildehana; the ring and octagonal mausoleum; hanaku (mausoleum-mosque) of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi ( XIV c.); the eastern bath (XVI c.); the mausoleums of Sultan Rabiga Begim (XV c.); museums of Yesim Khan, Abylai Khan, Zholbarys, Kasim Khan Janibek Batyr; and Kazybek bi and others, the Houma Mosque (XIX c.), the medieval citadel and shahristan, the underground mosque Aulie Kumshyk ata etc.
