Kazakh tennis player stuns in France

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Kazakhstan's tennis player Yulia Putintseva has advanced to the second round of the Open GDF SUEZ de Cagnes-sur-Mer Alpes-Maritimes tournament in France, Kazinform refers to Sports.kz.

The 20-year-old Putintseva defeated Slovak Kristina Kucova, 24, in straight sets 6:2, 6:1.

In the second-round match Putintseva will vie against Alison Van Uytvanck from the Netherlands who sent home American Shelby Rogers.

The prize fund of the tournament totals $100,000.
