Kazakh students won one silver and two gold medals in IPhO-2009, Mexico
ASTANA. July 18. KAZINFORM Kazakh team brought home one silver and two gold medals from the International Olympiad in Physics (IPhO-2009) held in Merida, Mexico. Thus Kazakhstan joined ten countries-winners of the IPhO-2009, Kazinform reports citing the press service of Daryn National Scientific Practical Centre of the Kazakh Ministry of Education and Science.
More than 80 eighty countries of the world took part in the competition. Kazakhstan was represented there by five school students. Akhyn Zhagsalag (Kazakh-Turkish Lyceum, Taldykorgan) and Zhanibek Kaimuldenov (#8 School-Lyceum, Pavlodar) won gold medals. Vyacheslav Lee (Kazakh-Turkish Lyceum, Taraz) and Askar Amangeldy (Zhatykov Specialized Physics-Mathematics boarding-school) became the silver winners. Aldiyar Nurmanov (#173 Gymnasium, Almaty) was awarded with a Certificate of Honor.
The 40th International Physics Olympiad took place in Mexico from July 11 to July 18.
