Kazakh Senate Speaker: Parliamentarians are interested in dialogue with members of the Swedish Riksdag
ASTANA. June 7. KAZINFORM - Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kairat Mami has received today the Ambassador of Sweden to Kazakhstan Manne Vengborga, reports the press service of the Kazakh Senate.
Senate Speaker congratulated the Ambassador on Sweden's National Day, that is celebrated annually on June 6.
At the meeting it was noted that recent years have seen a dynamic development of the Kazakh-Swedish relations. An important milestone in the expansion and deepening of cooperation between the two countries was the opening of the Swedish Embassy in Astana in 2010. In accordance with the presidential decree Kazakhstan also intends to open its embassy in Stockholm in the near future.
The Speaker and the Ambassador have also exchanged views on prospects of inter-parliamentary cooperation. Swedish deputies have repeatedly entered the Observation Mission of the elections in Kazakhstan. Furthermore, the delegations of the two countries cooperate within the framework of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
K.Mami stressed Kazakh parliamentarians' interest in establishing a constructive dialogue and fruitful cooperation with the members of the Swedish Riksdag.
