Kazakh Senate Speaker met with President of Turkey

ASTANA. May 26. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ Chairman of the Senate of the Kazakh Parliament, Vice President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Turkish President Abdullah Gul, Kazinform refers to the press service of the Senate.

K.Tokayev expressed confidence that the visit of the Turkish President to Kazakhstan will promote the development of the Kazakh-Turkish strategic partnership.

The sides noted that the Parliaments of two states maintain permanent active dialogue, friendship groups members of which took part in the meeting were established as well. The parliamentarians of two countries interact within the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-speaking Countries (TurkPA) and other international organizations.

"The first plenary session of the TurkPA held in September last year made a good beginning of the activity of the Assembly and its Secretariat. Launching of the TurkPA office in Baku on May 24 this year was another important step on this direction. The standing session of the Assembly is planned to be held in Astana", K.Tokayev said.

A.Gul in turn highly appraised the rate of development of the Kazakh-Turkish cooperation and complimented the increasing role of Kazakhstan in the world policy.
