Kazakh Senate Speaker met with Archbishop of Astana and Almaty Alexander
ASTANA. June 14. KAZINFORM Chairman of the Senate of the Kazakh Parliament, Head of the Secretariat of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has met with Archbishop of Astana and Almaty Alexander today, Kazinform refers to the press service of the House.
The interlocutors complimented the successful development of the strategic Kazakh-Russian partnership, relations of the Kazakh state bodies with the leaders of religious communities and firstly with representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church.
Issues of preparation to the regular session of the IV Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions scheduled for 2012 were discussed at the meeting as well. As the Head of the Secretariat of the Congress noted, this forum turned to be permanent dialogue platform providing religious leaders with an opportunity to exchange views on topical issues.
The Kazakh Speaker invited Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill to take part in the IV Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.
