Kazakh Senate Speaker held range of meetings within Trans-Asian Forum
ASTANA. May 14. KAZINFORM Chairman of the Senate of the Kazakh Parliament, Vice President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, Chairman of the Organizational Committee of the Trans-Asian Parliamentary Forum Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has met with heads of delegations of Afghanistan, Pakistan and Russia within the Forum today, Kazinform refers to the press service of the Forum.
In particular, K.Tokayev held meetings with Mirwais Yasini - First Deputy Speaker of the Wolesi Jirga (Lower House) of the Afghan Parliament and Azizullah Ulfati - Deputy Chairman of Meshrano Jirga (Upper House) of the Afghan Parliament.
Welcoming the Afghan colleagues the Kazakh Speaker said that participation of the delegation of the Afghan Parliament in the Forum held within the Kazakhstan's OSCE chairmanship attaches special importance to the event, extending the mandate and activity format of the Organization and sparking interest of the world parliamentarians.
First Deputy Speaker of the Wolesi Jirga (Lower House) of the Afghan Parliament Mirwais Yasini thanked for invitation to take part in this unique Forum. He expressed appreciation to the Kazakh people and Government for rendered assistance.
At the meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Senate of Pakistani Parliament Mir Jan Muhammad Jamali the Kazakh Senate Speaker noted that the coming chairmanship of Kazakhstan in the Organization of the Islamic Conference will allow to discuss many topical issues of the region.
The Pakistani Parliamentarians complimented successful activity of Kazakhstan as the OSCE chairman, topicality of the agenda of the Trans-Asian Parliamentary Forum and high level of its organization.
In order to further development of the Kazakh-Pakistani Interparliamentary contacts the Deputy Chairman of the Pakistani Senate invited Kazakh colleagues to pay official visit to the Parliament of Pakistan.
K.Tokayev and Alexander Torshin - First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation discussed the extension of Interparliamentary contacts between the Kazakh Parliament and the Federation Council of Russia.
The interlocutors complimented the activity of Kazakhstan in the OSCE, successful interaction of the Kazakh and Russian Parliamentarians within international parliamentary organizations and importance of further coordination of joint activity.
