Kazakh Senate OKs transfer of sentenced persons with Italy

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Kazakhstani senators have endorsed the bill on ratification of the Treaty between the Republic of Kazakhstan and Italy on the transfer of sentenced persons at a plenary session today.
The bill was presented by first Deputy Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan Iogan Merkel.
"The treaty regulates possible transfers of sentenced persons between the two countries in order to serve the sentence imposed on them," Mr. Merkel told the upper chamber of the Kazakh Parliament.
Kazakhstan and Italy signed the treaty on November 8, 2013.
