Kazakh Sec of State-Foreign Minister receives NATO Special Representative
ANA. September 11. KAZINFORM Today Kazakh Secretary of State- Minister of Foreign Affairs Kanat Saudabayev has received NATO Secretary-General's Special Representative for the South Caucasus and Central Asia Robert Simmons, who is paying a working visit to our country; the Kazakh MFA's press service reports.
The sides discussed the issues of cooperation development between Kazakhstan and NATO, including implementation of Individual Partnership Action Plans, results of the NATO-EAPC Security Forum held in summer in Astana, situation in Central Asia, including regional security, at the meeting.
Touching upon upcoming Kazakhstan's chairmanship in the OSCE in 2010, K.Saudabayev informed R.Simmons of the cooperation prospects of the Organization with the Alliance on the Afghan issue, which is one of the key priorities of the Kazakh chairmanship in the military-political dimension.
The Special Representative's visit is aimed at an exchange of opinions on the issues of further strengthening partnership between Kazakhstan and NATO in different spheres. Within the framework of the visit he held several meetings in the ministries and departments of the country.
