Kazakh-Saudi inter-parliamentary cooperation discussed in Riyadh

Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Saudi Arabia Madiyar Menilbekov met the Speaker of the Shura Council Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Sheikh, the press service of the Kazakh MFA reported Oct 28.

The parties discussed the key areas of cooperation in the inter-parliamentary sphere and opportunities for its further development.

Ambassador Menilbekov briefed about the political and socio-economic reforms carried out in Kazakhstan and noted that an important area of ​​partnership between the countries is the regular development of inter-parliamentary dialogue, which plays a significant role in political interaction and serves as the basis for strengthening trusting relations between states.

In addition, the Kazakh diplomat thanked the Speaker and representatives of the Kingdom for supporting the initiatives of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, active participation in the preparation of the final documents of the Congress, and for their contribution to the popularization of the ideas and values of interreligious harmony.

Abdullah Al Sheikh, having briefly outlined the mechanism of the Council's work and its legislative and supervisory role, emphasized that Kazakhstan is one of the key political and economic partners of Saudi Arabia in Central Asia. He highly praised the reforms carried out in Kazakhstan and noted the importance of further expanding cooperation between the two countries, including through inter-parliamentary channels.
