Kazakh Prime Minister meets with Minister of Foreign Affairs of China

ASTANA. August 19. KAZINFORM - Today, Serik Akhmetov, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, has held a meeting with Wang Yi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of China.

During the meeting Akhmetov noted the importance of Xi Jinping's upcoming state visit to Kazakhstan, according to the website primeminister.kz.

"Trade and economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and China is developing dynamically. The volume of trade as per 2012 amounted to more than USD 25 billion, thus, it is possible to bring that number to USD 40 billion by 2015", Akhmetov said.

The Prime Minister mentioned the following promising areas of collaboration - oil and gas, energy and transport sectors, development of agriculture and transit potential. In this regard, he called for the strengthening of ties between Kazakhstan-China Business Council.

"We will find a decent solution to this issue, transboundary rivers bonds will closely unite our two peoples", noted Wang Yi.

The head of the Foreign Ministry handed Akhmetov greetings and good wishes from Premier Li Keqiang. He also expressed confidence that "the upcoming visit of the President of China will raise the level of bilateral relations".
