Kazakh Prime Minister begins working trip to East Kazakhstan rgn

UST-KAMENOGORSK. January 11. KAZINFORM Kazakh government delegation headed by Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov has arrived in Semey town.

The working trip began with a visit to the heat supply facilities, which are implementing the project on expansion of reconstruction of the Semey thermal power plant. Last year, KZT 5.5 billion was allocated for the project that is scheduled to be finished by the end of 2013.

The next point on the agenda is a visit to the enterprise "Firma Asia" manufacturing hollowcore slabs used in building in seismically active areas. The firm is the participant of "Affordable Housing" program.

The final point will be a session in Ust-Kamenogorsk on the issues on developing the President's Strategy "Kazakhstan-2050", including social responsibility, development of the tourism cluster, geologic exploration, environment, "green" economy, alternative energy sources, construction of small hydropower plants, gas supply, and development of the wood industry. Another topic will be the problems of the cross-border river Irtysh.
