Kazakh President’s TV and Radio Complex, Turkmenistan State News Agency sign MoU
A memorandum of mutual understanding was signed between the TV and Radio Complex of the Kazakh President and the Turkmenistan State News Agency (TDH) on October 10, 2024, in Ashgabat, as part of the official visit of Kazakh leader Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Turkmenistan, Kazinform News Agency reports.
The document was signed by Director of the TV and Radio Complex of the Kazakh President Raushan Kazhibayeva and Chairman of the Turkmen State News Agency (TDH) Merdan Gazakbaýew.
"The Memorandum signed today aims at sharing media content and mutual support in covering major developments in the lives of the two countries," said Kazhibayeva.
As per the document, the sides agreed to cooperate on mutual content production, training and internships for journalists, sharing of resources of correspondent networks.
It is worth noting that "Kazinform" International News Agency, which is part of the TV and Radio Complex of the Kazakh President, has a long-standing relationship as well as an extensive experience of cooperation with TDH within the CIS Information Council.
"Cooperation between TDH and the TV and Radio Complex of the Kazakh President reflects the spirit of strategic partnership between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan and aims at promoting the information space of Central Asia, strengthening friendship and mutual understanding among the nations," said TDH Agency Chairman Merdan Gazakbaýew.
To note, the TV and Radio Complex of the Kazakh President is a leading full-service media company, which includes the republican TV channel JibekJoly, international TV channels SilkWay and SilkWayCinema, "Kazinform" International News Agency and the Documentary Film Center.
Turkmenistan’s Central State News Agency (TDH) covers news about the social, political, economic, cultural and sports lives of the country in the Turkmen, Russian and English languages.
Earlier it was reported that Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev arrived in Turkmenistan for an official visit. As part of the visit, Tokayev held talks with Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedow in a narrow format. Prior to the talks, the Kazakh leader was greeted at the Oguzhan Presidential Palace.
As part of the visit, Tokayev laid a wreath at the Turkmenistan Independence Monument as well as participated in a ceremony of unveiling of the monument to Abai Kunanbayev in Ashgabat.
