Kazakh President visited exhibition of Almaty, W Kazakhstan, Pavlodar regions

TANA. October 26. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev visited the exhibition of Almaty, West Kazakhstan and Pavlodar regions on Wednesday at the Palace of Peace and Accord in Astana.

The exhibition is aimed at demonstrating the achievements of the three regions in economic, social and cultural spheres over the past 20 years. Akims (Governors) reported to the President on the socio-economic development of their regions and progress of implementing the state program of forced industrial innovative development.

Akim of Almaty region Anzar Mussakhanov told that in 2011 it was planned to increase gross regional product up to KZT 1 056.9 billion, and up to KZT 560.9 thousand per capita. Compared with 1997, the GRP will increase 11.2 times; per capita - by 8.9 times.

Akim of Pavlodar region Bakytzhan Sagintayev informed that his region showed positive dynamics in all spheres of economy. Gross regional product was KZT 1 031.9 billion in 2010. It increased by 430 times since 1993. GRP per capita grew 18 times from USD 531 in 1993 to USD 9387 in 2010.

Akim of West Kazakhstan region Baktykozha Izmukhambetov said that gross regional product increased from KZT 25 billion in 1996 to KZT 1 048.8 billion in 2011. GRP per capita grew from KZT 38.5 thousand to KZT 1 730.4 thousand.

After the presentation Nursultan Nazarbayev attended a gala concert of the Almaty, Pavlodar and West Kazakhstan regions.
