Kazakh President visited Eurocopter Kazakhstan Engineering LLP

ASTANA. June 29. KAZINFORM Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev visited EC 145 helicopter assembly and maintenance plant Eurocopter Kazakhstan Engineering LLP, which is planned to be launched today.

The agreement on establishment of Kazakh-French joint helicopter assembly enterprise was signed on 27 October 2010 in France. Kazakhstan will have exclusive rights to sell helicopters to nearby countries. Investment in the project amounted to about 11.5 million euros, half of which was provided by the French side.

The plant will create 68 jobs. Each year, it is expected to produce up to 10 models. Special condition of Kazakhstan's cooperation in Eurocopter company is the right to use intellectual property, including know-how, patents, trade marks. In 2011 the joint venture has already delivered the first 6 helicopters to meet the needs of ministries. In the current year it is planned to supply additional 8 helicopters. In addition, during the second international exhibition KADEX-2012 the Kazakh Ministry of Defense signed a memorandum of understanding for the purchase of 20 EC-725 helicopters.

The plant was built near the airport of the capital, whose territory is 20 hectares. The building occupies 2.3 hectares. The world's first academy on training flight and maintenance personnel in Russian at the request of the European Aviation Safety Agency will operate on the territory of the enterprise.
